Hillsborough Arts and Sports Project (#HASP)

96 makes reference to the people that lost their lives as a result of the events that transpired on 15th April 1989. Hillsborough Arts & Sports Project will be an ambitious project that aims to have 3,000 participants using art and sport, resulting in exhibitions at both Liverpool Cathedrals and at Cupola Art Gallery, Hillsborough, Sheffield in April 2014.

96 is a number that will never be forgotten on Merseyside. The project will build upon the links the artist has from having lived in both cities: in the Anfield area of Liverpool and the Hillsborough area of Sheffield, whilst being an LFC supporter with a love of art and sport.

It will link the two cities of Liverpool and Sheffield once again, but this time with a fresh sense of perspective, hope and reflection. It aims to build bridges between both cities from a positive perspective given that the truth has come out and will continue to come out.

96 educational establishments in Liverpool and Merseyside will be chosen to participate in the project. Categories are as follows:

• Primary: KS2 – YR6

• Secondary: KS3 – KS5 (YR7 – YR13) either mixed groups or specific year group

• Pupil Referral Unit: KS3 – KS4

• Colleges: 16 – 19 age group and 19 – 25 age group

• NEETs – 18 – 25 age group

• Community Groups
